VERDICT (TLDR)Genuinely the best phone on the market. There was more than enough pixels for anyone. It was awesome and innovative and only selfish, inconsiderate, number chasers have ruined it. Now the 32GB is available, I have loads of space available. My few criticisms are:HTC logo bar at the bottom is a waste of real estate that could be taken up with something useful (like MOAR SCREEN), but I have heard the reason it is there is to fit part of the speakers in. If I had one criticism about the M8, it was that after all of my apps and Spotify music (God damn you Spotify and your inability to produce an app which allows you to save data to an SD card!) was on the phone, there was only about 2-3GB left.

If there's none you like, just choose a picture and make one around it.The upgrade to 32GB internal space is perfect.

There are hundreds of themes online for you to download that allow you to change icon colours and shapes, backgrounds during separate stages of operation, gestures and more. That's simply down to the power in this phone. The create-a-theme is so cool. My M8 would run out of juice towards the end of a day, this one will carry on way into the night. However, this phone's battery lasts longer than the M8 during normal use. The problem with tests is that they test the phone at maximum or high capacity for protracted periods of time which is great for establishing a baseline. Brilliant. In tests the battery life isn't as good. When you first get it and when you feel like having a play, it asks you "what would you like me to do?", you tell it, it does it. It's just neat, tidy, and does anything you want it to and, unlike iOS, it does actually "just work". It doesn't come with bloatware, it doesn't slow your phone down, it doesn't make you frustrated. It's lightweight, fast and responsive, simple to understand and use, and really just awesome. The HTC's overlay is a million miles better than Touchwiz ever has been or will be. Ok, the Samsung has it on the spec's sheet, but that's where it ends. If you are not moving from an M8, then this phone is a million miles better than anything you've ever had or tried. However, please, please, please don't listen to the overly damning reviews about this phone from the critics. How much better is open to interpretation and will certainly dictate whether you choose to upgrade or not. Now, the M9 is literally better in every way. Easily the best phone of its generation, it can still hold a light to this generations phones. It's just a testament to how brilliant the M8 was and still is. If you have the M8, there is literally no need to upgrade to the M9. I completely understand where you are coming from. Then find something to make it even better than the competition.Ī lot of people will look a the HTC One M9 and think "it's too similar to the old one", or "there aren't enough improvements over the old one". Make the screen size bigger with a better ppi. It has almost no bloatware and is simple but elegant to use.

Nobody trust the one M series name anymore. If I suggest things I would suggest ditching the name of the series altogether. HTC needs to stop playing Microsoft and put a phone worth getting out their. It sold the 4s, the fingerprint sold the 5s. Steve Jobs was so successful at selling products because he understood that in order to sell a product, there has to be something about that product that makes consumers say "I have to have that." or "I want that." Ex. It lacks a distinguishable feature other than the boom sound speakers, the something as last year just beefed up a tad bit. It doesn't even have a fingerprint scanner, which is something we almost take for granted now, as all other flagships have them. It doesn't do awful, but if you compare to even budget phones cameras, it can look a little disappointing.
